Welcome to Rob Hamilton's professional web site.  To learn more about individual areas of professional responsibility, click on the links above   This site was designed as a portfolio of my work in educational leadership. When navigating through this site, one will see how previous experiences have prepared me to become a school leader.  Please click on the links within each page or use the navigation bar at the top of the page to find out more about my preparation and plans as an educational leader.

During the past 2 years, I have been immersed in the world of educational leadership through Oakland University's
Master’s of Educational Leadership program.  During the past two years, I have studied the theories and techniques of leadership through a rigid 36-credit preparation program. to build the knowledge base to be a successful administrator.  This knowledge base has also been developed through experience, as a long with my courses, I have enrolled in a two-year internship under the guidance of Joyce Scochin an experienced high school assistant principal at Milford High School.   Through my internship program I have been heavily involved in many educational leadership positions, including
curriculum building, Michigan Merit Exam testing, freshmen retention, staff development, community fundraising, the school improvement process, technology utilization, and improving school culture.

As a teacher at
Milford High School in Highland, MI, I have collaborated with others in my field to institute best practices in my language arts classroom. I routinely analyze my performance based on assessment results and search for new ways to engage students.  I also advise the student newspaper, coach baseball and run the academic quiz bowl program.  This wide-range of after-school responsibilities has allowed me to hone my skills as a leader as well.

During the next few years, I will look to take a greater role in school leadership, in an eventual pursuit of an administrative position at the high school level.
